In a Busy World A Path towards Peace The meditation group at St. Lukes meets Saturday morning at 9:30 and is open to all. We are part of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM), an international affiliation led by Father Lawrence Freeman, Benedictine proponent of meditation and disciple of John Main. Meditation is simply sitting in the presence of God and letting the thoughts fly by without latching on to them. This leads to a beneficial quieting of the”Monkey" mind with resultant lowering of pulse and blood pressure. A gift of quiet for oneself which leads to more peace within and which can extend outward as well. The format is a bit of scripture, a bit of CD from WCCM featuring meditation leaders. Then, 20 minutes of silence followed by optional "faith sharing" about our own spiritual path. We conclude in approximately 45 minutes. Come join in for a bit of relief from the business of contemporary life. Dr. Charles Eschenburg leads the meditation. His experience includes learning meditation from Sister Elizabeth Hillman, Cenacle in Lantana, Kriya Yoga from the Center for Spiritual Awareness and from Roy Davis a Disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda.
